Fabric used in wraps
PUL (polyurethane laminate polyester), soft polyester that has been made waterproof by a layer of polyurethane. PUL is breathable which won't condense the moisture inside the nappy.
PUL with Cotton, these wraps have two layers of material: PUL which is the waterproof material and a cotton layer on the outside for a luxurious feel. We stop stocking these wraps because when baby gets older and wriggling more the cotton can get wet by the legs.
FLEECE, after our trials we decided not to stock fleece wraps
Wool, we will in the near future stock wool wraps as we found out how easy to care for they are
Wraps Sizes wraps
Birth-to-potty, come in one size only. These wraps can be made smaller using the front poppers. After our trials we decided not to stock birth-to-potty wraps
Multi-sized wraps are the most reliable wraps due to a better fit to baby's size. When baby reaches a certain weight, she needs to wear the next size up. Each manufacturer will use different weight ranges
Fastenings used in wraps
Velcro, gives you more flexibility because there are endless possibilities to the fit you want. However, as you make the wrap smaller by the waist it makes the closures by the legs also smaller.
Poppers, with these wraps you have the fit you want limited by the number of poppers. But it gives you more flexibility if there are poppers by the legs. It provides a better fit for babies with tiny waist and chubby legs, or vice-versa.
