Green Me is an eco-friendly baby and toddler online shop with a weekend stall at Greenwich Market, London (dates at greenwich market). We specialise in cloth nappies, stocking a good selection of trusted brands. We also stock other baby essentials, such as organic cotton clothes, soft baby carriers, sustainably produced toys, clothes for premature babies and natural items for mums.

My name is Cristina and I run Green Me since my fourth child was born in 2006. By then my experience in cloth nappies was extensive. I used them on all my children, including my twins. At a point I had three children in cloth nappies - hard work? none more than babies can give. It was so part of the routine I not even noticed. I just exchanged the task of buying and lugging disposables from the supermarket home and placing them in the wastebin, with placing the cloth nappies in the bucket and press the start in the washing machine....

The experience in promoting cloth nappies to parents and public in general started before that, it started 11 years ago and throughout the time I worked as a recycling officer at the London Borough of Bexley and the London Borough of Southwark, and at an environmental organisation called CRISP. Amongst other recycling projects, such as managing the on-street recycling banks and the door-to-door collection of recycling boxes from 52,000 residents (what fun!),  we would be involved with the real nappies campaign, working extensively to produce leaflets, organise talks and workshops, set up information stalls at baby clinics, offer free trial packs to mums-to-be and organise major events for the real nappy week.

Now with small children, I want to show them to as many people as possible. We have this on-line facility from where we receive orders and can dispatch items worldwide and have a stall at Greenwich Market since June 2006. At Greenwich market everybody can see and touch the nappies, and get answers for any questions they might have. Parents, grandparents, neighbours and friends of babies can spread the word about cloth nappies  We also visit baby clubs and ante-natal classes and ran stalls in green fairs (events dairy)
